5G is the next generation mobile and wireless connectivity system. Key requirements are that it should offer far greater capacity and be more responsive to users’ needs, more energy-efficient and more cost-effective than anything that has gone before.
Cannon Technologies have provided 44 C-type outdoor cabinets for the first phase test bed to the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) at the University of Surrey. The 5G test bed is now the largest UK academic research centre dedicated to the development of the next generation of mobile and wireless communications.
Bringing together leading academic expertise and key industry partners in a shared vision, the 5GIC will help to define and develop the 5G infrastructure that will underpin the way we communicate, work and live our everyday lives in the future.
