Position: Experienced Electrical/Electronic Engineer

Reporting to: CAD / CAM Manager

Job Summary

Working within a project team, sometimes as the sole design engineer, you must have a high degree of self motivation for designing electrical and electronic control systems from concept through to production, within defined deadlines and budgets. This will involve generation of specifications, selecting components, circuit design, designing for ease of manufacture and production test, generation of concise production documentation, functional and type approval testing of the completed product.

Effective communication is essential as you will need to liaise with mechanical design engineers, software engineers and suppliers, as well as production and administration staff.

Key Attribues

Solid knowledge of electrical systems and electronic circuit design within the following areas:

Microprocessor system
Microcontroller design
Programmable logic FPGA dsign
Circuit desig nusing semiconductor
Software programming in C and Visual basic
Low voltage AC & DC electrical distribution systems
HVAC systems
IEE wiring regulations

Additional skills / experience required

Experience designing products within the telecommunications, commercial and industrial sectors, using EDA and CAD design tools and other general office software tools

Education

Preferably you should be working towards your chartership, with a minimum of an HNC but preferably with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering

Minimum experience

Three years experience in the design, installtion and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems
